Safety

FieldTurf’s patented infill system was designed to provide grass-like performance. Its engineering combines a layered silica sand and cryogenic rubber system to provide a solid, stable and shock absorbing surface. Two significant differences between FieldTurf and all other artificial turf products are its infill weight and the high quality materials used.

FieldTurf is the safest turf on earth and outperforms ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act), IPEMA (International Play Equipment Manufacturers Association), ASTM (American Society for Testing and Materials), and U.S. CPSC (Consumer Product Safety Commission) standards for safety.

The Barnhill Report is the only true independent third-party safety study that has been done on any brand of artificial turf in the industry. The widely-acclaimed Barnhill Report was partially conducted on Amarillo ISD’s FieldTurf surfaces that have been under heavy use since the initial installation of FieldTurf. Completed in 2004 in part by Dr. Bill Barnhill, the Barnhill Report was completed over a five year period of competitive high school football play, comparing FieldTurf to Natural Grass. Significant differences in the incidence, type and severity of game-related injuries were observed between playing surfaces. In regards to reducing the number of game-related, high school football injuries, current findings suggest an advantage in selecting FieldTurf over Natural Grass.

The safety of the FieldTurf system has been proven time and time again for many different sporting applications. It is the only turf product that has long term third party safety testing to back up its numerous safety claims.
